Varsity Cheer Competes

The Varsity Cheer team is thrilled to be competing this Friday, January 12th. They have been consistently working hard every day for the past month. The competition consists of three different routines; a fight song, cheer and dance. Every girl on the team is ready to fight hard and be determined for Friday. I asked a couple of cheerleaders and the coach on how they feel going into this competition.

Coach Amy Johnson said, “The UIL competition is an awesome opportunity for the spirited leaders of our school to show their tiger pride. Our program is full of extremely talented cheerleaders and I am proud of the hard work they have put in while preparing for this competition.” Alyssa Cantu said, “I’m thrilled that we get to go compete with other schools all around us and represent Corsicana well.” Alison Andrews said, “As a senior, you have to make everything count, it’s just an awesome experience making memories while competing for the last time with the girls I love to cheer with.” Reagan Chaney went on to say “I’m excited to go into this Friday’s competition because I’ve never been and it’ll be fun to bond with my team and to see how other teams in our division compete.”

The girls are ready to compete and hopefully their hard work pays off. Good Luck to the Varsity Cheer Team!
