Classic Grecian Tragedy Antigone Performance
Tiger Studio 59 presents Antigone, a Classic Grecian tragedy written by Sophocles. Antigone, the epitome of an oppressed young sister whose blood brother was killed in war, now faces the challenge of burying him against the hand of Creon (king of the Thebans). Meanwhile in her journey of womanhood, Antigone encounters love, hate, and ultimately death. This heart-wrenching and evoking tale spells the bounds of classic literature to life on the stage. “Antigone” has been performed since its first publication in 442 BC, and our theatre department is very proud to be a part of this tradition.
