Jungle Tango takes the prize
On Saturday, October 5th, the CHS Band competed in a Pre-UIL marching contest in Midway, performing their 2013 marching show entitled the “Jungle Tango.” The show includes music from The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Tico Tico, Habanera from the opera Carmen, and Tiger of San Pedro. They received awards in the 4A division for outstanding color guard, marching, and percussion, as well as receiving the overall 4A award for outstanding performance. On Saturday, October 19th, they will compete again in Midway, at the 2013 Region 8 UIL Marching Contest and hopefully advance to Area. This year, the band is under the direction of Drum Majors Grayson Watkins and Lauren Woody, and Directors Bre Osbourn, Curtis Oakley, and Brandon Nelson.
