Cosmetology at Corsicana HS
Although it is hard to juggle high school without adding anything, some people balance being full time high school students with cosmetology classes at the College Park Mall. Erika Monge is one of those students. The first week students purchase a $25 work permit and $500 kit that includes everything students need for classes. Classes take place Mondays through Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Cosmetology students are required to pass all their academic classes in order to participate in the cosmetology program. Two years of Cosmetology training are required before taking the State Board of Cosmetology Test. The state board exam validates your skills before you can earn your license. After you earn your cosmetology license, you are certified to start working in cosmetology, whether you open your own salon or work a booth. It’s a great program that also saves a lot of time and money. “Cosmetology is at first a lot of work, but then it becomes a lot of fun.” Erika says. Although it is hard, the work pay off and could help you achieve your dreams.
